Lila Devi Stone founded Yogananda's Spirit-in-Nature Essences in 1977, a branch of Master's Flower Essences. Her love of the outdoors and an innate belief that nature cradles an untold wealth of healing secrets provided her with the inspiration to develop these essences.
Lila's first experience in sampling a flower essence proved so extraordinary that she began studying the few essence books available at that time. Self-training metamorphosed into experience, which then led to preparation of the first batch of the Master's Flower Essences.
Also a playwright, poet, songwriter, and musician, Lila adds the dimension of music to Yogananda's Essences, sharing songs written by Swami Kriyananda, creatively interpreting their vibrational messages through song. Music, a "language of the heart" that bypasses the mind and intellect, offers a unique avenue for people to access their essences and their own wholeness.
Lila graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, USA, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, psychology, and secondary education. Before developing the Master's Flower Essences, she taught high school English and later ran the first group home for developmentally disabled women in Kalispell, Montana, USA.
Author of the groundbreaking book, The Essential Flower Essence Handbook (available in English, Italian, and Japanese), and the innovative Flower Essences for Animals, Lila has lectured extensively in the USA and internationally.
She brings warmth, insight, music, and humor to her classes, creating an unforgettable experience in healing and self-discovery. Her background in psychology, education and spirituality, and her sensitivity to nature and healing, make her one of the foremost flower essence developers in the world today.
Lila lives at Ananda Village outside Nevada City, California, with her husband.
